Hugh Kelly, Managing Director of AML Architectural Products Ltd., the company responsible for the marketing and selling of Tretford carpet in Ireland and in many of its international markets was present at the ceremony.
Minister Cullen, speaking at the presentation said: “Innovative companies like Waterford Carpets play a vital role in promoting the quality of Irish-manufactured products worldwide while sustaining jobs in Ireland. I am delighted today to present this company with this prestigious ISO 14001 Environmental Certification. A local industry with a global market, Waterford Carpets through using the unique Tretford cord, have truly embraced a unique selling point as an integral part of their business plan. The natural, renewable content makes this corded carpet one of the most environ- mentally preferable carpets on the market. It is a fantastic achievement for Waterford Carpets that their dedication and focus has been recognised by the International Organisation for Standardiza- tion. I congratulate Noel Cunningham and his staff here in the IDA Business Park, Waterford on this key achievement.”

Concern for the environment is at the heart of the Tretford brand and Waterford Carpets Ltd are delighted to have been awarded ISO 14001 certification.
